Already Qualified?

STARTING ON ZOOM:

3 MARCH 2021 10AM- 3PM

(1 YEAR)

We have adapted our Level 5 Professional Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy for those therapists that already hold professional body membership such as NCS or BACP. This adaptation is delivered entirely through live Zoom classes each week and features all of the units that make up our classroom based Level 5 qualification with the addition of emphasising the differences of working online to face to face work, giving you the best of both worlds.

In 2019 we launched our own syllabus with great success: Level 5 Professional Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy. In 2020 we adapted our syllabus to meet the demands and changes gifted to us through Covid-19.

With a combined experience, within our team, of over 40 years in the talking therapy world we have seen counselling trends come and go and understand the value and importance of those elements that stay constant.

We have wanted to share our own personal and professional knowledge and expertise on embracing humanity, creativity and profound healing for a long time. Writing our own syllabus has afforded us the freedom to do just that, whilst understanding and adhering to the professional standards of quality assurance needed for counselling based qualifications. Our own syllabus is the perfect blend of theoretical and practical based learning whilst providing you with an in depth knowledge to empower, heal and transform your clients lives.

You will be taken on a journey of self discovery that will be deeply healing, raw and challenging on a soul level whilst equipping you for the realities of working in the counselling and psychotherapy profession. We believe that you must be comfortable sitting in your own darkness, before you can sit in the darkness with others. Therefore, you will need to have a good level of self awareness, open mindedness and resilience to undertake this training.

We will explore;

Person centred approaches to counselling in the modern world
Counselling skills development focusing on online work
Human development
Grief & loss
Abuse & trauma
Creative ways of working with clients
Personal development
Reconnecting & healing the inner child
Identity
Next steps post qualification

ASSESSMENT

Assessment will take the form of written assignments, group & individual presentations, practical demonstrations of your counselling skills, journaling and creative projects. There are no exams.

COUNSELLING PLACEMENT

To successfully complete the course you will need to complete 100 hours of counselling practice with clients over two years.

There are a variety of counselling providers across the country and you are not limited to working within your local area. As this qualification has an emphasis on online working, we recommend that at least 50 of your placement hours are completed online.

If you are in private practice or have paid or voluntary work in an organisation, you can count these supervised hours towards your qualification.

COUNSELLING SUPERVISION

It is a requirement that all counsellors and therefore student counsellors have regular supervision when working with clients. This ensures your safety, the client’s safety and aids to develop your skills and knowledge.

Supervision will be at the ratio of 1 hour of supervision, for every 8 client hours.

PERSONAL THERAPY

Due to the heavy emphasis of personal development on this course, we have a mandatory 15 hours of personal therapy as an intrinsic part of this course. We believe that we have to become comfortable with sitting in our own darkness, before we can sit in the darkness of others. It also provides you with the opportunity to find out more about yourself, uncover the ‘real’ you. This is something that is invaluable and will support the heavy emphasis on self reflection throughout the course.

PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

Due to the BACP adapting their requirements for course providers to deliver courses safely in light of Covid-19, the live Zoom teaching meets their current requirements of meeting their professional standards for education. Please note that BACP may change their mind at any point.

This course will give you 210 hours of directed study via Zoom learning.

The course also meets the current proposed SCoPED requirements.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

It is important to recognise that traditional fulltime, 9-5 jobs in the therapy world are much harder to come by than in other professions.

However, what this means is you have the creativity and freedom to truly create the career of your dreams, doing exactly what you love.

This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to apply for counselling jobs within organisations such as the NHS, charities and not for profits. It will also provide you with a safe and secure basis and the confidence to set up in private practice, work online and start making your dream job a reality.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You will need to already hold or have the potential to hold professional body membership with organisations such as NCS or BACP.

All learners must be aged 18 and over and will be assessed individually to determine their suitability to undertake foundation degree level learning and their ability to undergo the personal, transformative nature of the course.

You will be taken on a journey of self discovery that will be deeply healing, raw and challenging on a soul level whilst equipping you for the realities of working in the counselling and psychotherapy profession. Therefore, you will need to have a good level of self awareness, open mindedness and resilience to undertake this training.
